Tiger and Tim was born from the COVID-19 lockdown, loneliness and a desire to help people when they needed it most. The world also feels very divided, so perhaps a silly human and a tenacious Tiger (who can’t roar), can meet in the jungle, become best friends and show children that we are all better off united.

Tim’s Great Grandfather is a big inspiration for our show. He was a “Foundling” child in the 1880s. The Foundling, at Coram Fields Hospital in London, was the first children’s charity in the world. The orphanage saved the life of Tim’s relative and ensured that his grandmother, father, auntie, brothers and sister, nephews and nieces, Tim himself, and of course, Tiger, could be born. There are millions more deserving children today, that need a chance to grow, thrive and not just survive.

There is also a vacuum for exciting, engaging and educational digital content for kids. Too much online content only entertains or is entirely commercially minded – which is ineffective and a significant cause in the growing global literacy gap.
